finally, some time to check out the sights of Rio after working so hard this week. (all i got to do here otherwise was go to the beach. at night.)
i was initially a bit taken aback by the price to take the train up and get admission to the statue (R$46, or about $24), but it really is worth it. the tram slowly makes its way up the mountain passing through the largest urban forest (in this case, a rain forest) in world, emerging at the top of Corvocado mountain.
protip sit on the side of the train closest to the platform for the best views. for the most part, the other side just has an up-close view of the mountainside.
