In Which I Try Goat Milk And Love It (Help Me Recreate!)

because we were in the vicinity of Penang’s Little India, we naturally stopped by an Indian place for a late lunch (boo, no roti canai; only available mornings and evenings *sad panda*).

i saw “goat milk” available on the menu and was intrigued. i ordered it expecting to be absolutely disgusted (but then be able to say i tried goat milk) but as it turns out, i loved it!

it was served hot and it was sweet! it totally reminded me of something my grandmother made when i was a kid — she’d steam (regular cow’s) milk with dates? sugar? eggs? (who knows!), giving it a luscious sweetness. my sister-in-law (odd to call her that despite my brother being married for nearly year) likened the taste to white rabbit candy.

now, i’m sure if i got goat milk at whole foods (or trader joe’s? — well, wherever), and warmed it up, i’m sure it wouldn’t taste like this. does anyone know how i can recreate this at home? i’m thinking worse comes to worst i can just keep adding sugar until i get the sweetness right, but i’m not sure that’s enough?
