UPDATE: People have reported that Swagbucks and other shopping portals are no longer giving bonuses for Staples giftcard purchases.
I’m always afraid that my online shopping portal purchases will somehow not be properly tracked but for those of you are taking advantage of buying Staples Visa Giftcards using the Swagbucks shopping portal, I can happily report that the points are now showing as pending from an email I received.
As you can see, I ordered the Visa giftcards from Staples on 4/28/14 and the credit will post to my account to use on 5/30/14. My Swagbucks can be used to get giftcards or transfer to Paypal. 5,000 Swagbucks equals $50 so I will not only be earning 5x UR from my Ink Card but I will be making about $15. Pretty good deal!
Interestingly my Visa giftcards just shipped and are expected to arrive on May 14 so this whole process will take awhile but worth it since I can do this from home and not have to drive around buying giftcards.
Update: Just got my Visa GCs today 5/5/14 and just realized you have to first activate them online at www.giftcardmall.com/activate and you also must use the activation codes that they sent you in a separate mail envelope. Good thing I didn’t throw it away! After you activate the card, you can then call the number on the back of the card to set a Pin # to load to BB.

I made the same purchase on 4/28 and just received my gift cards from Staples. I just read the Swagbucks terms and it states that swagbucks points may not be awarded for the purchase of gift cards. Also, my order never showed in my swagbucks account and I can’t find a pending order e-mail from swagbucks. Is this your first purchase using them for Staples?
Yes this is my first purchase on Swagbucks and for Staples. It hasn’t posted to my account yet…I just recieved the email today. perhaps wait another day or two? You didnt modify the order in anyway did you?

Has anyone tried using the last 4 digits of the card as PIN without changing it online?
No, I called to set my pin #. I’ll have to try that next time cause it would really save me some time.
I used the last four digits of the card as the PIN when I loaded one to my Serve at WM.
Something to note: I have Swagbucks pending for the Staples gcs I bought on 5/1/14 but 0 SB pending for the ones I bought on 5/8/12. So I think the rumors of them stopping the payout on gift cards may be in place.

My visa cards arrived Saturday, but I still haven’t received the activation codes. (Today is Tuesday.) Anyone else had a similar delay? I’m starting to worry.
The envelope is plane white…looks like junk mail. The letter is from GiftCardMall. When I get back home I’ll see if there is a phone # there you could call to follow up.
