Up to 10,000 miles for Dining

Several airlines and hotels have dining programs where you can register your credit card and you will get miles or points when you dine at specific restaurants listed on their website and pay with that registered card.

I have signed up with as many programs as I could and registered as many credit cards as I could because sometimes I don’t realize that a restaurant is on their list and I earn points for dinning out.

Dinning PointsRecently, these dining programs have have been offering large targeted bonuses for making a certain amount of dines. Different people have received different offers but here are some offers I have received:

MileagePlus Dining – After registration, dine out 10 times before Aug 15, 2014 and receive 10,000 United miles. Each dine must be at least $40.

MileagePlus Bonus

AAdvantage Dining –  After registration, dine out 10 times before Aug 15, 2014 and receive 5,000 American Airlines miles. Each dine must be at least $40.

AAdvantage Bonus

IHG Rewards Dining – Add a credit card to my profile and dine out using the card and earn 500 points, up to 4 times for a total of 2,000 maximum points. Dines must be completed by August 15, 2014.
.
Have you gotten similar offers? I am thinking of buying giftcards for listed restaurants in case I can’t dine 10 times by Aug 15 so that I can get the bonus. The bonus is in addition to any miles you receive on your credit card.

We never spend $40 when we eat out. So, the offers are worthless.

That is why I suggested getting a giftcard instead to a listed restaurant. That way you can use the cards gradually throughout the year without having to deal with the Aug time constraint.
