Getting Softcard plus earn Amazon Gift Cards and Cash Back

I learned about Softcard from Dr. of Credit. This app lets you add certain credit cards which will allow you to make store purchases with your phone. This can potentially eliminate the need to carry so many credit cards.

In order to start using SoftCard, you must first make sure your phone is eligible. You can check if your phone is eligible here. It currently looks like it is available for ATT, Verizon, and T-mobile users. If you phone is eligible, you may need to get an enhanced SIM card. You can order you special SIM here free of charge and it will come in the mail.

When your SIM comes in, there are instructions on how to switch out your SIM or you can go to a brick and mortar store to have them change it out for you.Once you do all that, you will need to download the app onto your phone. It will guide you through the process of activating and setting up your Softcard and adding credit cards.

Ok now to the good stuff,

There is an offer out until 12/31/14 where you will get a $10 Amazon gift card for every 5 taps you do. Taps = payments with Softcard. Per the T&Cs, you are allowed 3 Amazon gift cards per credit card for a total of $30. You can do this with up to 5 different participating credit cards for a total of $150 (Your Serve card is not a participating card). To find participating stores, you can search by location or name here.

Dr. of Credit also posted about getting United miles by linking your United credit card and making a purchase. The first purchase will get you 2,500 miles and each subsequent month, a purchase will get you 500 miles. The offer is valid until 2/28/15 so the max you can get if you start now is 3,500 miles.

There is another small offer out there where you will get $1 back when you make purchases of $1 or more using your Amex Serve card with your Softcard. You can get up to $50 Serve credit per month and offer is good through 12/31/14. This offer is not combinable with the 5 taps for $10 above.

Have you used SoftCard yet? Please share with me your experiences.
