Wyndham Rewards is like a phoenix coming out of the ashes with new and exciting uses for its points. Not too long ago they had changed their award program where every hotel would cost 15,000 points per night. This also meant that you could score all inclusive properties for this rate which I’ve written about here.
Wyndham just recently announced that you can now earn and redeem reward points at Caesar’s properties in Las Vegas.
Although the points will cover the cost of the room, it will not cover the cost of the resort fee which is such a bummer and can really add up. Below are the list of properties and fees:
Bally’s – $30 fee/day plus tax
Harrah’s – $30 fee/day plus tax
Rio Hotel & Casino – $30 fee/day plus tax
Flamingo – $30 fee/day plus tax
The LINQ Hotel & Casino – $30 fee/day plus tax
Paris – $35 fee/day plus tax
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino – $35 fee/day plus tax
Caesar’s Palace – $35 fee/day plus tax
Nobu Hotel Caesar’s Palace – $35 fee/day plus tax
The Cromwell – $35 fee/day plus tax
Redemptions for Caesar’s properties really only make sense for higher priced rooms but you can find pretty good availability (except for maybe NYE).
Also you are able to status match from one program to the other at this website. This could be beneficial if you are planning on staying at one property group or the other and have high tier status.
Point Auctions for Experiences
Wyndham also recently introduced using your points to bid on experiences which some actually look worthwhile. They can include a variety of items such as Las Vegas shows, cruises, VIP experiences, theme parks and tours. The starting bids seem reasonable and it doesn’t look like there has been very many bids so the chances of winning these auctions are high.
