Preview of the Newest United Polaris Lounge at Houston IAH

I had the opportunity to preview the newest United Polaris lounge at Houston’s IAH airport, scheduled to open June 29, 2018. This is my first visit to a United Polaris lounge so I was exited to experience it. The other current open lounges are located at Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO), and Chicago (ORD), with others in the works.  You can view and track the lounges here.

The Lounge

It is located in Terminal E near gate E12. The front desk verifies your access which is laid out below:

After verification, you take an elevator up to the Polaris lounge.  There is a variety of seating areas whether you want to sit in comfortable chairs with or without a desk, or sit at the bar or dining area.

They even have day beds you can use (limited to an hr) where you can refresh or take a cat nap. IMG_20180627_195435_795

Food & Drinks

There is a dinning area where servers take your food and drink orders or you have the option of sampling the buffet area. These are all inclusive of the lounge access.

I tried the achiote chicken quesadillas which were delicious!

I partook in tasting the dishes at the buffet area and there was such a good variety and everything I tried was very tasty!

There was a great list of “Signatures of the Sky” drinks to choose from.

Two of my favorites were The Paper Plane and the Lavender Lift. I tried the Caipirinha but it didn’t quite taste like a traditional one.

Although this lounge is more restricted in its access, it was a much needed addition for this large international hub. I enjoyed the experience and atmosphere and will hopefully be able to experience the other Polaris Lounges.
