Back in Miami and to the airport

We had breakfast again on the boat before disembarking at the cruise port. There was a line and we had to scan the RCL cards to leave to make sure you had it. We also brought our passports just in case. There were instructions on where to meet for the shuttle to Atlantis Resort, which was included in the excursion. They also had shuttles going back to the port every 30 minutes so it was pretty convenient. They recommended to get back to the port early as we had to go through a quick customs and security check before walking onto the dock and the boat.

We spent a beach day so we could get a pair of chairs and towels at any beach. It did not get you access to the water park. However, we did manage to sneak into the large lazy river. We did the loop about twice until we were told we couldn’t be there. The large lazy river was fairly open as there were many mini beaches that allows people to go in and out of the lazy river. It wasn’t very well controlled. There was usually a person in charge of loading people onto the lift on one end of the river and he was supposed to check. Most of the time, they did not. When we were told we didnt belong, we tried to leave the lazy river but kept getting sucked back in. So we just floated up the lift and continued on our way.

The lazy river was pretty awesome. It wasn’t really that lazy at all as there was a wave machine on one end of it. It was hilarious that it overturned our double floatation donut twice. It was fairly scary as you can hear the wave but wouldn’t be able to see it until about 10 seconds before it hits. And sometimes that wave was about 5 feet high and it kept bouncing off the walls of the river so it came at angles at you. This was the reason why it overturned us twice.

There were also large slides at the resort, but I knew from the last time i was here that they check the wrist tags. Next time i’ll get the water park package to try it out.

The beach day allowed us to roam the grounds, which included an underground aquarium and a walkway with a glass ceiling to see the fish above. There was tons to see inside the hotel and on the grounds at the resort.

The giant chair was outside of the casino. Inside the hotel, there were many shops as well.

We took an early shuttle back to check out the cruise port. There was numerous stalls selling all sorts of souvenirs. Then I wanted to get a drink at Senor Frog. I missed out on this last time I was here. This place is a spring break institution with fairly cheap yards. All the sizes was dispensed by machines to make sure bar tenders wouldn’t give too much.

We walked back to the customs office and about twenty minutes we were walking on the dock back to the ship. The picture doesn’t reflect how big this ship actually is.
