Mileage Run #4: Aloft Portland Airport Walkthrough

Aloft Portland Airport Walkthrough

I didn’t stay here, but I had a few minute before I needed to return the car so I went to check out this hotel.

This is very similar to the other Aloft hotels. They had bikes outside to borrow for free, which was nice. There are a few trails near the hotel and airport you can ride around. The front desk said that there are a few miles of trails.

This is much closer to the MAX light rail so this would be better if you are looking to take public transportation into the city. I rented a car and parking isn’t an issue to find parking anywhere. We did get to dinner early on Saturday so we had our pick of spots.

This hotel is much further from the runway than the Sheraton. This would be a better option if you wanted to sleep early or not having to deal with the airplane noise. You are still very close to the airport so you will end up hearing plane noises anyway but not as much as the Sheraton due to proximity to the runway.

There was a nice gym here with better treadmills than the Sheraton.

The pool was about the same size. The Sheraton had a hot tub but I couldn’t see one here at the Aloft.

The outdoor seating area would be very nice in the summer and would have been great during our stay that weekend as it was close to 60F and not raining. For October, that is pretty good.

The downside of this hotel is that it doesn’t have a lounge and many of the food/drink items are for purchase in the lobby. If you you plan on getting back to the hotel late and not utilizing the lounge, the Aloft would be a great option. It also has a pool table, which would be nice to unwind with.
