You Have to Start Somewhere.

Two and a half years after starting First2Board with my dear friend and colleague, Stacey (Explorations Guru), and remaining happily behind-the-scenes, today I’m proud to launch my blog, The Taxiway.

My name is Casey Hines, and I am an avid traveler, both for business and pleasure, and look very forward to sharing my experiences, excitements, disappointments, successes and failures with you. I’m not naive, there is nothing I can “teach” you. There is nothing you likely don’t already know. But, that’s not going to stop me. I am writing for the love of writing – sharing for the love of sharing.

More often than not my travels take me away from my family, and this blog will be an outlet for me to share some of the sights, sounds, ups and downs with you – the loyal readers of First2Board, folks who stumble in from Twitter or Facebook, or those of you who might just be seeking another voice in an already very crowded space!

I am not a points and miles junkie, though I love to collect (and use)! I am not a manufactured spender (though I probably should be). I am not selling credit cards or schemes (though that would make this much more lucrative). Having said all of that, if I see a tip, trick, deal or offer, I won’t shy away from sharing it.

What you can expect from The Taxiway is a simple, honest blog highlighting some of the amazing (and sometimes not so amazing) destinations I visit. I am an honest, simple, middle class 30-something father of two, who unapologetically flies in coach! I am a loyal Starwood Platinum and American Airlines Executive Platinum traveler, so you can expect to hear a lot about those two things!

You’ll learn about me as I write and publish stories, and I hope to learn about you. Please comment, share, criticize, or encourage, but leave the hate behind. I don’t have room in my life to accept it, and you shouldn’t have room in your life to share it!

We are all so fortunate to be able to travel, experience our own amazing country and visit far reaches of the world. We are truly a blessed generation as the world has become a very small place. Let’s all embrace its beauty together.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to sharing my life with you through The Taxiway.
