US Airways Share Miles Promotion – Last Day Today

Reminder:  Promotion ends at 11:59PM today, Sunday, April 13, 2014.

The US Airways Share Miles is undoubtedly one of the most ‘rewarding’ promotions for obtaining miles that there is. Today is the last day you will be able to take advantage of this… and, as always, we don’t know when or if this promotion will return.

This is a tiered promotion in which you earn bonuses based on the number of miles you share.  The categories are as follows:

• Share 10,000-19,000 miles and get 50% bonus miles
• Share 20,000-29,000 miles and get 75% bonus miles
• Share 30,000-50,000 miles and get 100% bonus miles

To share miles through this promotion, the cost is one cent per mile, plus a 7.5% federal excise tax, and a $30 transaction fee. You can share at most 50,000 miles per transaction before the bonus, meaning with the 100% bonus you could transfer a total of 100,000 miles at a cost of $567.50.

Your US Airways Dividend Miles account must be at least 12 days old to take part in this promotion and you can only receive a maximum bonus of 50,000 miles while you can share miles with as many accounts as you would like. Typically, share transfers are immediate although with newer accounts it may take a day to post. I shared miles on Saturday and they posted within minutes.

Although with the recent changes, US Airways has done away with its sweet spot 90,000 business class to Asia award, there are still great awards to be had. Regardless, these miles are a real bargain at 1.1 cents per mile.
