The website announced that tickets for the Austin DO 3.0 from Feb 20-23 will be available on Oct 30, 2013. Unfortunately, the group rate rooms at the Sheraton are already completely booked.
Don’t fear! Here are some hotel suggestions on points:
Sheraton – You can still book a room at the host hotel for 10k points/night
The Driskill – Near Austin night life, this hotel is now under Hyatt and can be booked for 18k pts/night
Hyatt Place – Close to Austin night life, this hotel goes for 15k pts/night
Intercontinental -Near Austin night life, this hotel will cost a whopping 5ok IHG points/night or you can use your free night certificate if you have the IHG Chase card.
Hilton– At the corner of Red River and 5th, use your points at 50k/night
Radisson – Right on Town Lake, you can get a room for 44k/night or 44k for 2 nights if you have the Club Carlson Card!
Holiday Inn– Right on town lake and near a food truck park, rooms go for 25k IHG points/night
There are a number of budget hotels out by the airport. It is not that far by car. While I am staying at the host hotel for the Mega Do, I am staying at Super8 Airport North which has a decent Trip Advisor rating for a couple of days pre/post at a “Block Buster Super Saver rate of $79.19.
That’s a pretty good rate for Austin. Everything is expensive!
Hyatt Place Downtown was a great stay and within walking distance to the night life.
