Support the Ta Tas and Earn AA Miles

October is breast cancer awareness month and I know many know of ya’ll know someone who has been affected.

If you would like to donate to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support the fight against cancer, American Airlines has a partnership where you could earn 20 miles per dollar for making a donation of $25 or more for the month of October.

You can only earn 60,000 miles in a 12 month period and the donation is tax deductible less the value of the miles. The value is stated on the website which is 2.75 cents per mile if fewer than 6,000 miles are awarded and 2.5 cents per mile if 6,000 or more miles are awarded. The value of the miles is arguable but consult your tax adviser for advice.

You can make your donation using your credit card so you will also earn miles from your credit card.  If you have the US Bank Flexperks Travel Rewards Visa, this card earns 3x per dollar for charitable contributions.

Donating to any worthy charity is commendable, earning miles for it is just icing on the cake.
