Upcoming Networking Events for 2014 and 2015

One of the joys I find in this crazy hobby is not only to redeem for really inexpensive vacations but to meet awesome people that also enjoy traveling and redeeming miles and points. I call them my support group because who else can better understand what we do and consider all this normal 🙂

So here are some upcoming support group/networking events where you get to meet like minded people, have some fun, and hopefully learn some useful information about earning and redeeming points. Networking is great because you never know when you might run into them at the airport lounge or find yourself tweeting each other about deals. You also might find yourself joining others on group vacations as well. So here are some meetups that are out there to consider that are not sold out:

Frequent Traveler University (FTU) in DC – This event is scheduled to take place at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City on Dec 5-6, 2014. The registration cost is $149 and includes cocktails on Fri, speakers, access to the Frequent Traveler Expo, and breakfast and lunches for Sat and Sun. Hotel is separate and can be booked at the negotiated rate of $99 or you can book on your own anywhere you like.

Austin MegaDo – This epic event takes place in one of my favorite cities from Feb 26-March 1, 2015. Tickets are not yet on sale (will go on sale soon) but they sell out fast and you purchase events a la carte. The schedule is up on their website. If you are interested in going, I would make speculative hotel bookings. Last year I made some hotel suggestions.

Family Travel for Real Life – This event hosted by Dia, the Deal Mommy and it is the second event she has hosted. This one will take place March 7, 2015 at Hyatt House Center City in Charlotte, NC. This event is specifically tailored to the needs of families but all travelers are welcome. Early bird tickets are on sale for $59. There is also a group hotel discounted rate of $139 if you would like to book at the host hotel.

If you are hesitant to go to an event, don’t be shy, there are so many people to meet, I guarantee you will have a great time at any event.
