Now Book Kimpton Hotels with IHG Points and Certs

When IHG acquired Kimpton a few years ago, members weren’t able to take advantage of any IHG benefits with Kimpton hotels. With the merger complete, you can now redeem IHG points and free night certificates at any of these unique properties. The point values range from 40k-70k and you can find a list of the hotels and respective points per night cost at this flyer talk thread. Make sure to open up the Wiki at the top to see the properties.

UPDATE: Unfortunately Chase is changing the rules where you can only redeem free night certificates at properties that cost 40k points or less. This change will take affect for free night certificates issued after May 1, 2019, so if you want to use your free night certificate at any high priced Kimpton properties, do so before then!

I’ve stayed at one property, Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, TX and thoroughly enjoyed the uniqueness, customer service, and location.

For high costs both in money and in points, the best option for a free night is by using the certificates you receive annually for holding the Chase IHG credit card. Here is a post on how to redeem these certificates.

I’m excited to try more Kimpton properties! They have been know for really taking care of their guests. They even have a “secret password” that is updated every few months which you can say at the front desk for some goodies. Guests have gotten some pretty nice amenities over the years which you can check out at this flyertalk thread here.

Although they are mostly located in the US, they are stated to open more international locations in the next few years.
