Points Summary

American Airlines SAP-MIA 737-800 Business Class

Originally, I planned to take the Delta Airlines SAP-ATL-CVG-LAX return flight but it didn’t make sense to overnight in CVG and spend money on a hotel. I know it didn’t make sense to throw the return ticket away as well, but I also needed to get home quicker. I was lucky and found a one-way 30,000 milesAAver award in Business Class from SAP-MIA-CLT-LAX. On this installment, I flew from San Pedro Sula to Miami (SAP-MIA) on American Airlines.

The plane from SAP-MIA was a Boeing 737-800 (738) with a 2-2 configuration in the Business Class cabin. I chose the bulkhead aisle since it’s my favorite seat.

This was an early morning 7:15am flight and I had a pre-departure beverage of cranberry vodka. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere.

After the flight reached cruising altitude, the flight attendant passed out a hot wet towel.

I ordered another cranberry and vodka, but this time with lime. The lime really makes a difference.

The breakfast choices were an omelet or a cold plate. I had an omelet with breakfast potatoes and plantains. There was also a side of fruit and bread (not pictured).

The flight attendant was amazed that I cleared my plate so fast and asked if I would like to have another one! That was the first time a flight attendant has ever asked if I wanted seconds, so I took him up on his offer and chose the other option, the cold plate.

The cold plate came with various meats and cheese along with a side of fruit. It was also accompanied with yogurt and bread with butter.

Both breakfast entrees were really good and I usually dislike plane omelets because they’re so bland. The salsa on the omelet made all the difference. This was a short two hour flight to Miami and the service on American Airlines was fantastic as always.
