How to Receive 7,500 AAdvantage Miles Without Test Driving a Cadillac

By now you’ve probably heard about the free 7,500 American Airlines AAdvantage miles for test driving a Cadillac car. As with all airline and hotel promos, I always register for it even if I don’t plan on completing the promotion. You must be thinking I’m nuts, but there’s always a slight chance of a glitch where the miles and points post even if you don’t intend on going through with the promotion.

I’m not into cars and I’ve never ever driven or been inside of a Cadillac. However, I did get into one for the very first time back in August when I booked my Etihad Chauffeur on my summer trip to Dubai.

It was definitely cool to be picked up in a Cadillac Escalade and I felt like a P.I.M.P for a cool 20 minutes on my way to the airport. However, I would never purchase this vehicle or even test drive it since I have no interest in cars.

I registered for the promotion with NO intention of going into the car dealership. I received an e-mail from the dealership and confessed that I am only doing it for the miles and would be on vacation starting next week. I received this surprising favorable response from General Sales Manager:

This shows you that it never hurts to ask because you’ll be doing THEM a favor and not waste their time. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it since they will be getting some kind of financial incentive from American Airlines.

Here are some tips on How to Receive 7,500 AAdvantage Miles Without Test Driving a Cadillac.

1. Ask for an appointment on the weekends and holidays. Car dealerships are very busy on the weekends and especially holidays since that’s the bulk of the business. The last thing they want is for someone to test-drive a car when they could be closing in on a prospective buyer. If you show up in person, politely inform them that you’re in it for the miles and you might not even have to waste time on the sales spiel.

2. Re-schedule your appointment via telephone and inform the dealership that you’re not interested in Test Driving a Cadillac and you’re more interested in the miles.

3. E-mail the dealership that you’re just in it for the miles. You might be surprised at the response, at least I was!

Good luck!

  1. “If you don’t tell anyone…”

    Failing at that miserably.

  2. Or they might say… “No test drive. No miles”
