PDX Voted Best U.S. Airport by Travel+Leisure

I am happy to report that my home airport of Portland International has been voted as the nation’s best by Travel+Leisure magazine. The results are handed down from a questionnaire given to readers, who answer based on several categories, such as security, location, access time, bars and restaurants, and other important aspects, such as accessibility and parking.  I must admit that Portland has a great airport.  The staff are friendly, the TSA officers are (most of the time) respectful, and the ease of getting in and out of the airport parking is just awesome.  I also enjoy the fact the car rental desks are located just outside the terminal, and do not require a bus to get to.  They have an array of shops inside that is just big enough so you can stroll through, without having to worry about being late at the gate, or missing your flight.  One of my favorite bakeries, La Provence Petit, is also located inside the terminal, and has some of the best chocolate croissants out there.  I posted the list below for your viewing pleasure.  I havent been to all of these airports, but I’ll have to try them all, and see  how they compare to my hometown PDX.   Have you been to Portland International? What do you think?
