Unboxing Starwood Hotel’s Mysterious Box of 9 Different Chocolates

I just received a FedEx package from Starwood Hotels yesterday and was surprised to find a purple square box that read: 9 lifestyle brands. 1,100 distinctive hotels. 1 world-class loyalty program. …Isn’t the #spglife sweet?

I opened it up and there were nine different chocolates represented from nine different Starwood Hotel Brands such as Sheraton, Element, St. Regis, Aloft, Le Meridien, Four Points by Sheraton, W Hotels, The Luxury Collection, and Westin Hotels.

Turning the box over, I find out the harsh nutritional facts along with the company name, Astor Chocolate. The description from the box reads:

Gourmet Chocolate Thins: Our deluxe gourmet chocolate things are sure to please the most discriminating chocolate connoisseur. Crafted using classic European chocolate making techniques and the finest ingredients available, these exceptional chocolates will melt in you mouth. A smooth, creamy indulgence that will leave you with nothing but sweet memories.

Each Starwood brand of hotels has its own unique and distinctive flavor which reads:

Sheraton (Milk Chocolate Toffee), Element (All-natural Milk Chocolate), St. Regis (Dark Chocolate Strawberries and Champagne), Aloft (Milk Chocolate Raspberry), Le Meridien (Dark Chocolate Espresso), Four Points by Sheraton (Milk Chocolate S’mores), W Hotels (Dark Chocolate Ginger and Passionflower), The Luxury Collection (Dark Chocolate Chipotle Chili), and Westin Hotels (Dark Chocolate Black Currant and Lavender).

I’ve heard a huge buzz about this in the recent week on the Starwood Preferred Guest Flyertalk Forum about the mysterious box of chocolates. There were talks about members receiving the box of chocolates from staying at the nine different Starwood branded hotel properties in 2012 of last year. The Starwood Lurker on Flyertalk has indeed confirmed that it was an Easter Egg that was an unpublished benefit.

Have you stayed at all nine Starwood properties?
