I drove my rental car from San Juan to Fajardo and it took me about an hour to get to the city center. Located in the city center of Fajardo is Plaza de Fajardo where locals come to hang out and meet with friends. Basically it’s like a town square full of surrounding shops and restaurants but most importantly, historic landmarks.

Right in the center of Plaza de Fajardo, you can find a monument and a fountain.
The most famous landmark is the Catedral Santiago Apóstol.
Surrounding the plaza, there are barren shops and restaurants which many of them were closed. I think I was the only tourist and there weren’t many people out on a Monday afternoon.
There was a tourist building in Fajardo, but it was closed. I’m not sure if Fajardo attracts a lot of tourism.
However, there are landmarks around the plaza such as the City Hall, legislative building, library, and a school.
