Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel Review

I booked the Sheraton New York Times Square hotel (formerly Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers) for 12,000 Starpoints. The going rate was $600+ a night because of New York Fashion Week. I stayed here two weeks ago as part of a mileage run from LAX-JFK-SJU-JFK-LAX. I changed my flight from a LAX-JFK redeye to an earlier flight, so I could spend a night in New York City.

I took the JFK Airtrain to the E Train and got off at the 7th Avenue subway station which was one block from the Sheraton New York Times Square hotel.

The hotel was basically sold out due to fashion week and because of a large Delta Air Lines conference.

I had booked a standard room and asked the front desk agent if there were any better rooms available. The front desk agent found me a Club room, but it had two double beds. I went ahead and agreed to the room and he told me that I had Club Lounge access as well.

The two double bed Club room was adequately sized for Manhattan. It was a basic room with two beds, small circular table with two chairs (work desk), and a TV.

There was also an in-room coffee maker with a minibar fridge.

The bathroom was also no-frills and very small. It contained the usual Sheraton bath amenities.

The best part about the room was the amazing view of New York City.

I went up to the Club Lounge for evening appetizers which ran from 5pm-7pm and also has a cash bar. The Club Lounge was pretty huge with panoramic views of New York City.

The evening spread consisted of olives, cheese, crackers, grapes, and a vegetable tray with ranch dipping.

I had a little bit of everything, but the evening spread was disappointing as there were no hot selections.

The Sheraton New York Times Square hotel is in a fantastic location with easy access to the subway trains. There is also a citibikes station one block away if you need a bike rental. The Club Lounge could definitely use hot selections as the evening spread was disappointing. I was fortunate enough to even secure a room in New York City with Starpoints as hotel rates were sky-high.

  1. The bathroom had the usual amenities? Maybe except a bathtub you can use? Carefully missed and un-documented? I expected more.
