Orbitz is launching a promotion in conjunction with VISA promoting ‘VISA Checkout’ on Cyber Monday. They’re giving out $100 off your hotel booking of $100 or more for a total of $1,000,000 which is essentially 10,000 bookings.
Here’s the catch – You must have a VISA card and sign up for VISA checkout and the promotion starts at 12:01AM Pacific Time. Spend $100 or more on a hotel room booked on Orbitz.com and receive a $100 discount off the listed price when paying with Visa Checkout. Must enter promo code: VISACHECKOUT to get this discount.
Here’s how to get $100 off Hotel Bookings on Orbitz Using VISA Checkout.
Step 1. Sign up for VISA Checkout using this link: http://www.orbitz.com/mktg/visa-checkout/
Step 2. You must use this link for booking: http://www.orbitz.com/mktg/visa-checkout/ and enter the promo code: VISACHECKOUT along with the destination and dates. Note: The stay must occur between December 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.
Step 3. On the search results, check the top of the screen to make sure the promo code was applied correctly. It will say “Your promotion code has been successfully applied. Select any hotel labeled “PROMO CODE ELIGIBLE” and you will see your savings on the next page.”
Step 4. Scroll down the list of hotels and look for “Promo Code Eligible” and click “See Details”. Note that chain hotels are excluded from this Cyber Monday Orbitz promotion. There are some great boutique hotels in Los Angeles and elsewhere in the world.
Step 5. On the billing page, make sure you see the message “Your promo code was successfully applied” and be sure to select “VISA Checkout” or else you won’t be able to get $100 off your $100+ purchase.

Just booked my hotel and promo code was successfully applied
It’s looking like that $100 has to be pre-other discounts. I found three seperate hotels in New Orleans that cost $109/night. Unfortunately Orbitz is automatically offering 10% off that price, knocking the total down by $10.90 (to $98.10). Thus, the $100 off is no longer valid. It seems any hotel I can find close to $100 a night has this “extra” 10% off knocking it under $100.
I’ve never liked using Orbitz and this just reminds me why!
if you find hotels that are knocking it down to the $90-99 range, look for an upsell to a better room which would push it over the $100 total pre-tax and it will let you use the $100 discount!
