The Chicago Seminars – why you can’t miss this event

Have you made plans to attend the Chicago Seminars yet?  This is a one-of-a-kind event because it’s the only all volunteer event put on by members of the community for the members of the community. All excess proceeds after covering expenses are given to charity.

Many people have already seen the news on flyertalk today, but Frugal Travel Guy has announced that registration for the October 11th – 13, 2013  event is now open.  The seminars will again be held at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

There’s a ton of obvious reasons to attend the event – great speakers and great content, points/miles earnings tips and tricks, chances to meet your favorite bloggers and talk them one-on-one and more – but there are a lot of reasons to go that might not be so obvious.

Last year I attended the event and met Howie, who contributes to Frugal Travel Guy and is also known as the Frugal Travel Geek, and we’ve since had the chance to connect in Bangkok, work on some side projects together and in fact, become friends.  Had I not been at the seminars, I wouldn’t have connected with Howie.  Because of that connection, and once First2Board was born, we decided it would be a natural fit to work with Frugal Travel Guy and sponsor the Chicago Seminars.

In addition to Howie I made several other friends at the events, including @ PlushAdventures who will now be a VeryGoodPoints contributor.  The networking opportunities that extend beyond the points & miles world are what make the event a can’t miss.  You’re going to learn a ton about points and miles, travel and more…but it’s the social networking that leads to new and exciting opportunities.

Many of the First2Board team will be there and we look forward to the fun!

Make sure you register today! It will sell out.
