Got #FirstWorldProblems? Then You Need To Read This.

We all like to vent, make fun of ourselves and yes, sometimes just plain complain about our problems.  With abundant access to social media, we’ve all found a great outlet to share our #firstworldproblems.   It’s so easy to dismiss these so-called problems, problems that people in third-world countries would actually have. And while it’s not a bad thing to laugh about them, I think there’s more that we can do besides just laugh.

What if we could all band together and help combat so-called #firstworldproblems.

Back in December I made a New Year’s Resolution, and shared it with my readers. I resolved to stop complaining about truly trivial things like not getting upgraded, not getting a suite, etc… I’ve done a pretty good job, but I haven’t been perfect.

I can’t even count the number of blogs, forum discussions and tweets I’ve read lately and thought, wow, what a great problem to have – you flew in business class to a part of the world where most people haven’t even stepped onto an airplane, let alone flown business class. I’m sorry your meal was cold, what a shame.   Here’s a few of those types of #firstworldproblems

How often to do read blog posts, discussion board posts, tweets, etc… where a person talks about their travel to a part of the world where global issues are abundant, but all you hear about are the hot towels, the ice cream, the champagne, the hotel suites, the upgrades and so on.  How often do people actually talk about the other side of the coin?  The ugly side of things.  I’ve personally only read a handful of posts.

If we all took a few minutes to shed light on global issues, especially those in places we travel to,  we could start to change the world, one tweet, like, post, and discussion at a time.  I’m committed to it!

This is why I’ve created #FirstWorldFixes.org.  My goal with #FristWorldFixes is to start a conversation, get others to engage and shine a spotlight on global issues like poverty, hunger, child labor, etc…
