US Airways Allows Use of Personal Electronic Devices On Most Flights

US Airways jumped on the bandwagon today announcing that they too now allow the use of small personal electronic devices.  The announcement, however, comes with a few small caveats.

A few things to note about this new change:

  • Smaller devices can be used on flights within the 50 United States
  • Larger devices, like full-size laptops, must be turned off and stowed during taxi, takeoff and landing
  • Headsets should be used for any audible portable device
  • This update only pertains to mainline flights, but we’re working to implement this policy on our Express carriers as soon as possible

Flight’s operated by Republic, Mesa and US Airways other express carriers aren’t included in this initial roll out. I sure hope that changes quickly.

I just received the email below and I am more than excited!
