SPG Delta Announce Crossover Rewards Enhancement

Starwood announced today an exciting new enhancement to the Crossover Rewards program.  Starwood and Delta launched the program earlier this year allowing members of the two rewards programs to earn points/miles and other benefits from the program.

Today, Starwood shared the news that in addition to the existing benefits, Starwood Platinum members who are registered for Crossover Rewards will continue to earn 1 Starpoint per dollar for eligible flights on Delta, enjoy elite benefits when traveling on Delta including priority check-in, priority boarding, and a free checked bag and NOW are eligible for unlimited complimentary upgrades (of course some restrictions apply and upgrades are space available.)

Along with the enhancements that Delta announced today – View From The Wing wrote a great piece about those – this new perk makes Delta even more attractive as a SPG platinum member.

Does that make you more interested in Crossover Rewards? Would you switch to Delta because of this perk?

Upgrade terms and conditions: SPG Platinum members are eligible for day of departure upgrades on most published economy fares on Delta and certain Delta-designated codeshare flights in North America within or between the United States (excluding Hawaii) and Bermuda, Canada, Central and South America, The Caribbean, and Mexico. Unlimited Complimentary Upgrades are subject to availability, may not be available on all flights or in all markets, and are not valid for travel to/from Hawaii, Transatlantic and Transpacific destinations. Complimentary Upgrades are not available on flights to/from South American cities that are serviced with our BusinessElite® product (i.e., Buenos Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru; Caracas, Venezuela).
