Although the miles redemption seems a little high, this is a great new change and just in time since I just applied to my new Virgin Atlantic Credit Card. We will see how  the ease of booking flight on Delta with VA miles will be.

Any cute way to do a fancy points transfer from another program through VA to get extra Skymiles? Kind of like the Amex points to VA to Hilton deal last year.

As far as I know, you can’t transfer flying club mi to Skymiles, you can only redeem miles through code share flights. Although you can transfer AMEX, Ultimate Rewards, & SPG starpoints to Virgin Atlantic at 1:1, there doesn’t seem to be another fancy pants transfer that I know of.

  2. Still not easy to actually browse for and book Flying Club reward flights. Like what’s the best way to find deals for vacations where I can use these miles effectively?

The T&Cs say that all reward flights on Delta are subject to availability. Blackout dates may apply and certain routes may not be available. So theoretically you should just be able to search on Delta.com for rewards. I’m not sure what the routes that may not be available and you have to call VA to redeem. Also the flight has to be Delta metal, not another carrier and it is only available for round trip.
