Holiday Inn Suckered Me into a Trip to Myrtle Beach

I had previously written about Hilton suckering me into a trip to Vegas and I did it with great success as I got to stay at the Trump and received perks for sitting through a presentation.

Well when making a hotel booking with Holiday Inn, I was asked if I wanted to get transferred for an “opportunity” so I said yes knowing what it would be.

Holiday Inn Club Vacations was offering a 3 night stay in 4 select cities: Orlando, Fl; Myrtle Beach, SC; Las Vegas, NV; or Pigeon Forge/Gaitlinburg, TN.

I’ve never been to Myrtle Beach so I asked where I could stay and the options were HI Oceanfront, HI Express Broadway, HI Express Murrell, or Southbeach resort for an additional fee.

So what is the cost and what would I receive? It will cost $199 for the 3 nights and I would receive either $200 cash back or $100 + 20,000 IHG points. So I basically could receive a free stay for sitting through a 2-3 hr presentation which I have done previously with another brand. So Myrtle Beach here I come!

  1. They offered me $200 back and also one night certificate to use anywhere in the US. No expiration date and I still said ‘no”

That seems like a great deal but then again you would have to sit through a sales pitch and that is definitely not for everyone.

  2. Soo..How can someone like me get offered these deals? I would love to visit SC, and totally ok with the sales pitch. I hear a lot of them for my work anyway..
