Discover Card Giving Me Travel Credit! (Targeted)

Discover Card sent me an email to register for a travel promotion where after I register, I could get a $15 statement credit for $150 in travel spending. This is in addition to the 1% you regularly get for purchases. So effectively, this is a 11% cash back promotion. Per the T&Cs, this spending includes hotels, airline tickets, car rental, cruises, travel agency, limo and transportation services.

Discover Travel CreditThe promotion runs through May 31, 2014 and I can use it 3 times for a total of $45 in statement credits.

This amount is easy to spend on travel. The T&Cs don’t specifically say that gift cards are excludes so hypothetically I could purchase airline giftcards to use at a later date if needed. I have yet to try this but it should work.

Discover Signed upHas anyone else with a Discover Card received this targeted promotion?

  1. Pretty average promotion considering the Arrival gives you 2.222% back on travel. Also AmEx Fidelity is 2% back on all purchases with no AF. Discover really needs to step their game up.

This is a nice promo (which I have not received). By my math, it is 10%. With the normal 1%, the total rebate is 11%.

You are totally right! My math was way off. Ill correct the post. It makes it better than I thought 🙂

    • Also, if you use the ShopDiscover portals for Marriott, Expedia, Hotwire, Alamo, Enterprise rental, you’d get 5% plus the 10% so it’d be more like 15%

  3. I’m jealous! I haven’t been targeted for any special promos with Discover
