American Airlines PVG-ORD 777-200 Business Class

I had a chance to try out the 777-200 in Business Class last month on my trip to Israel from Chicago to Heathrow (ORD-LHR) on American Airlines. This time, I flew from Chicago to Shanghai (ORD-PVG) on the same configuration.

The seats in Business Class on the 777-200 are angled flat and comes with an American Airlines amenity kit, black slippers, pillow, and a blanket. In addition, each seat has its own in-flight entertainment.

I was offered a pre-departure beverage and chose the sparkling wine.

During taxi and takeoff, I was offered the American Airlines Business Class menu with a wine list.

I was offered a beverage of my choice and in this case, I chose Cranberry and Vodka with lime. The flight attendant was very generous and gave me an extra bottle of Absolut vodka and an additional half glass of cranberry juice. In addition, hot mixed nuts were served, an American Airlines signature item.

To start, I was served smoked salmon with spring pea blinis and cream cheese.

The salad was seasoned greens with fresh vegetables, feta, and pepperoncini served with sour cream herb dressing.

As the entree, I chose the beef fillet which was served with Gorgonzola mushroom sauce, blanched green and yellow beans, and mashed potatoes with turnips.

The best thing about flying American Airlines is their signature Traditional Ice Cream Sundae with your choice of syrups and toppings.

In this case, I chose the works, which is everything on top of that vanilla ice cream.

During the flight, you can go to the galley and raid the snack basket.

As a Mid-Flight snack, I chose the Stir-Fried Noodles with chicken which was forgettable. The noodles were really dry and the chicken was bland.

Before landing, I had the cold Sesame Chicken with an Asian salad and plum vinaigrette accompanied by a citrus carrot cake, which was tasty.
