The Westin Bund Center Shanghai Hotel Review Part 1

I booked the Westin Bund Center hotel for $177 USD + tax. It was much pricier than the Le Royal Meridien, but I felt the need to try out all the luxury hotels in Shanghai. I used a Suite Night Award and got confirmed into a large 775 sq. ft. Executive Suite five days prior to check-in.

Since the hotel was really close to the Le Royal Meridien, it was only a 16 minute walk to the Westin Bund Center. I could’ve taken a taxi, but I avoid them unless I absolutely have to.

The lobby was absolutely stunning.

I checked in and the front desk agent advised me that I was upgraded to an executive suite. He advised me that I could’ve used the Towers check-in located at the opposite end. Apparently, the executive suites are all located in the Towers section of the hotel. He checked me in any way and I advised him that I would take the 500 Starpoints since there is an executive lounge for breakfast. He advised me that I could have breakfast in the restaurant if I wanted since there is a larger selection.

The executive suite was pretty large and the living room contained a glass work desk, fax machine, sofa, and TV.

I had a fruit welcome amenity waiting for me on the living room coffee table.

The bedroom was quite large as well and contained a king bed with a lounge chair and a bookshelf style décor.

There were 1 and a half bathrooms in the executive suite. The half bathroom contained a sink and a toilet with the usual Westin amenities.

The main bathroom contained a huge oval tub boasting views of Shanghai.

There was also a large double basin sink, separate shower area, plenty of towels, bathrobes, and the usual Westin bath amenities.

The best part about the room was definitely the bathroom boasting views of Shanghai. It was great to soak into the tub and admire the city at the same time.
