The First2Board Charleston Sessions concluded on Sunday with a historic walking tour of downtown Charleston. The guided tour was included with our Charleston Sessions general admission ticket. Normally the tour prices range from $15-$20 and I found plenty of coupons in my hotel and on Groupon.

The hour and a half tour started at Dock Street Theater promptly at 10am with our tour guide Mike.
Across the street from Dock Street Theater was the French Huguenot Church.
Horse and carriage rides are a norm in downtown Charleston.
A lot of streets in downtown Charleston are still mostly comprised of cobblestones.
Mike showed us the famous Obelisk in Washington Park. It is a smaller scale version of the Washington Monument in DC.
We headed down to the “four corners” of downtown Charleston which has four of the most important buildings in Charleston, South Carolina. The “four corners” consist of the Charleston County Probate Court, Post Office, City Hall, and most importantly, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
Behind St. Michael’s Episcopal Church is the famous St. Michael’s Alley where there is a cemetery.
Mike took us to Rainbow Row which is a series of colorful historic houses in one street.
The best part about the tour was visiting Battery Row near the beautiful waterfront. The Battery Row homes are ridiculously expensive as there are several multi-million dollar mansions.
We continued walking back towards the city-center looking at zig zag streets and the famous museums on Museum Mile. Mike concluded the tour in the “four corners” area and we walked to Eli’s Table for lunch around noon.
