The Sights and Sounds of Miami Beach Florida

Believe it or not, Miami Beach is my most frequented city outside of a 500 mile radius of my hometown of Los Angeles. Within the past few years, I have done about 10 mileage runs (on $150 fares) on Continental Airlines which I purposely booked a long layover to see what Miami is all about. Since American Airlines has a huge hub in Miami, I have often had long layovers as well. Rental cars are really cheap from Miami International Airport and it’s only a 10 minute drive to Miami Beach.

The Sights and Sounds of Miami Beach Florida

I’ve been pretty much everywhere in Miami and on this most recent trip, I stayed in South Beach which is also called Miami Beach. The most famous strip in South Beach is Ocean Drive.

Ocean Drive is also home to Lummus Park, where you can relax and even rent a bike. You might recognize Lummus Park from the movie Scarface.

Ocean Drive is lined up with hotels, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, bars, and nightlife. Ocean Drive is most famous for its Art Deco buildings.

On the other side of Ocean Drive is the beach where you can also play volleyball.

If you need sundries or forgot your cigar, you can get them on the side streets of Ocean Dr. and can find many more on the streets parallel such as Collins Ave. and Washington Ave.
