Points Summary

Alaska Airlines MEX-LAX 737-800 First Class

I was upgraded on this flight due to codeshare agreements between Delta Airlines and Alaska Airlines. I had my Delta Gold Medallion number attached to my Alaska Airlines PNR and I was able to self-upgrade online to First Class 24 hours before checking. During check-in, I had the agent change my Delta Skymiles number to my American Airlines Executive Platinum number so I could earn miles on AA instead. The agent was able to do that right away and I still got to keep my upgraded seat.

Alaska Airlines MEX-LAX 737-800 First Class

This was my first time sitting in First Class on any Alaska Airlines flight. The 737-800 First Class cabin is a 2-2 configuration with large comfy seats.

This was probably my second Alaska Airlines flight ever. The boarding process for First Class was pretty smooth and I quickly found my seat in 4D with plenty of legroom.

There was no pre-departure beverage served since it took a while for the flight attendants to get everyone boarded. After departure, the flight attendant came around and took drink orders. I ordered a coke with lime.

Breakfast was served on this morning flight and it consisted of eggs, potatoes, fruit, and a side of salsa. It was definitely a paltry breakfast and I thought the meal felt more of like an appetizer.

I ordered a cranberry vodka with lime to try and keep my stomach from growling.

It was a quick three hour flight back to Los Angeles and the flight crew was very nice. The flight attendant kept asking me if I needed anything. The flight arrived 45 minutes before the scheduled arrival time which was pretty awesome.
