Details about Starwood’s Q2 have been posted on their website – Earn double Starpoints® on all eligible stays from May 1 through July 31, 2013, at more than 1,000 participating Starwood hotels and resorts worldwide. Hotels and Resorts Not Participating.
Unfortunately for me, none of my planned May or June stays are at participating hotels. Here are the UK Starwood properties not participating:
UNITED KINGDOM
- Le Méridien Piccadilly, London
- Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh
- Sheraton Park Tower, London
- The Lanesborough, a St. Regis Hotel, London
- The Park Lane Hotel, London
- W London — Leicester Square, London
So, that’s just about every affordable Starwood Property in London (yes, there’s the Aloft, but that’s not convenient and 2x points isn’t worth an hour commute)
There’s always a possibility of an unscheduled trip popping up in May or June and I don’t know what July holds in store yet. So the question is, what to do in May/June?
I think there are two options, 1) since I’ll have already qualified for Platinum status by May, I could focus those two months on earning Hyatt status, especially if they have a good promo. 2) I could just say who care and stick with the 4 points I currently earn.
This is a tough choice…. what would you do?
