Budget Airline Lion Air, which I wrote about in December, lost a plane today when it crashed near Denpasar, Bali. All 101 passengers and 7 crew on the Lion Air flight survived, although dozens were injured and at least 7 were taken to a hospital with head wounds and broken bones. The pilots were trying to land the Boeing 737-800 at Denpasar’s Ngurah Rai International Airport when it crashed.
Lion Air’s spokesperson said that the aircraft was a Boeing 737-800 NG, Next Generation delivered in 2012.
