National Museum of the US Air Force

By Plush Adventures

Although Air Force One is sequestered, there are still many amazing aircraft located just outside of Dayton, Ohio at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. It is located adjacent to the Wright-Patterson AFB and receives in excess of one million visitors per year.

On a recent road trip, we pulled in to have a look at the amazing aircraft on display including Air Force One, a Boeing VC-137C. Sadly, Air Force One was subject to sequestration and is no longer viewable as of May 1 along with the Research and Development Galleries.

Not to disappoint, the museum’s galleries display aircraft from World War II as well as aircraft pre WWII, Southeast Asia War, Korean War, Cold War and the Missile and Space Gallery. Following are photos of some of the amazing birds on display. If you are near Dayton, this is a must see. We arrived 90 minutes after opening and got one of the last parking spots in a multiple football field size parking lot.
