Points Summary

Delta Air Lines LAX-GUA 757-200 Business Class

I used 35,000 Delta SkyMiles and $52.60 in cash (taxes) for a round-trip low level saver economy award ticket from Los Angeles to Guatemala City. I didn’t even know Delta flew from LAX-GUA nonstop which totally surprised me. I got upgraded to Business Class on an award ticket because it’s a Delta Gold Medallion benefit which I absolutely love. The flight to Guatemala City was scheduled to depart at midnight from LAX International Airport. I haven’t flown Delta internationally in a long time and didn’t know what to expect on a four hour flight to Guatemala.

Delta Air Lines GUA-LAX 757-200 Business Class

The Business Class cabin on a 757-200 is a 2-2 configuration.

Each seat has a personal in-flight entertainment TV screen which is located in front of you.

The Business Class cabin seat is a recliner and contained a pillow and a blanket. My favorite seat is the bulkhead aisle (don’t ask me why).

I had champagne in a plastic cup as a pre-departure beverage.

After the flight reached cruising altitude, I had a cranberry vodka with lime.

For some reason, a full heavy breakfast meal is served on this midnight departure flight. As the “breakfast” entrée on a red-eye flight, I had an omelet with sausage and potatoes. The meal also came with bread and mixed fruit.

The meal service was fast and the crew was super friendly. After the meal, I knocked out and the plane was ready to land at La Aurora (GUA) International Airport.
