Asuncion International Airport is one of the smallest airports in South America and that means no lines for security. ASU airport only has 4 departure gates and there aren’t a lot of VIP lounges available for elites and premium passengers. However, I did get to visit the Itau Sala VIP Lounge before my flight from Asuncion to Miami, Florida.

The Itau Sala VIP Lounge is named Salon VIP B according to the signage at Asuncion airport.
I was able to access the Itau Sala VIP Lounge because I have the American Express Platinum credit card.
You can also get into the Itau lounge if you have an Itau Visa Platinum, Itau MasterCard Black, La Tarjeta Gold American Express de Itau, Itau Personnalite, Itau AAdvantage Platinum, Itau Interclass, and TAM Itau Platinum credit cards.
The Itau Sala VIP Lounge is really small, but there was plenty of seating available in the evening.
There is also a small business center equipped with computers, printer, and fax machine.
There was no food available, but plenty of alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic beverages including a coffee machine.
