W Midtown Atlanta Review

Suite at the W Midtown Atlanta

This past week I stayed at the W Midtown Atlanta. I’ve been before and really liked the hotel.  I asked my Starwood Ambassador to contact the hotel ahead of my arrival to let them know I’d be arriving pretty late on the night of July 4th.   The hotel was ready when I arrived around 9pm and told me I’d been upgraded to a suite.

The suites at the W Midtown are huge.  They have a full living room/dining area, bedroom with working desk and gigantic bathroom.  The room I was assigned upon arrival didn’t smell so good.  I let the hotel know and they immediately switched my room – to another suite – and W Insider checked himself to ensure that the new room smelled fresh – and it did.   The customer service at the hotel is outstanding and one of the reasons I choose the W Midtown when I’m in the area.

The location is convenient to most parts of town, and the hotel offers a variety of services.  They’re known for their restaurant, Spice Market, but I’ve yet to visit. One of these times I’ll get there.  During happy hour on weekdays they offer Platinum members triple points on drinks and food.  That’s a nice way to earn some extra points- if you’re there during the week.  The hotel also participates in the “Make The Green Choice” program, so I was able to opt-out of housekeeping during my stay earning 500 points per night for being green(er.)

The hotel has a Bliss Spa – this is a serious risk for me – I love Bliss Spas and I love Bliss products – it takes a lot not to spend too much time in the spa. The hotel is next to a shopping center and there’s a full-service Starbucks in the center – very convenient for a quick pick-me-up.  Rande Gerber’s Whiskey Park is also located in the hotel.  I felt pretty silly driving up Saturday night wearing jeans and t-shirt while people lined up to get into the ultra chic bar – but that’s the great thing about W. You can be yourself and still fit in.

I think that of all the Atlanta Starwood Hotels I’ve stayed in, the W Midtown is my current favorite. I would highly recommend a visit to the W Midtown Atlanta
