Points Summary

Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel Review

I booked the Sheraton Tel Aviv on a 4,800 Starpoints + $90 cash rate since the hotel was going for over $300. I value one Starpoint at $0.03 minimum and I was definitely getting more value by booking the cash and points rate. Hotels are very pricey in Tel Aviv and this was the only Starwood property in Tel Aviv. Because of the recent Starwood devaluations, the Cash and Points rate did go up to 6,000 Starpoints and $110 cash as of March 1, 2013. Rates can go from $200-$400 a night depending on season and availability.

I arrived to the Sheraton Tel Aviv at midnight since my flight got in pretty late.  It’s only a 20-30 minute drive from TLV airport to the hotel. I used my very first Suite Night Award of the year and was confirmed 3 nights prior to arrival. As a Starwood Preferred Guest 50 nights+Platinum guest, I receive ten Suite Night Awards to use within a whole calendar year.

It costs $40 USD to get from TLV airport to the Sheraton Tel Aviv by taxi so I rented a car and brought my own Garmin Nuvi GPS loaded with a full map of Israel. Renting a car is a much better option if you want the freedom to explore Israel, but I have to warn you that gas is $8-$10 USD / gallon.

If you arrive by car, parking costs $15 USD overnight and the parking lot is underground accessed only on Retsif Herbert Samuel street, not on HarYarkon street.

During the midnight check-in, I chose the 500 Starpoints as a Platinum amenity since the hotel has a Club Lounge for breakfast. The front desk agent advised that I got upgraded to a suite and wished me a good night. I went up to my room and was surprised to find a bottle of wine, a box of dates, and fresh fruits along with a personalized welcome card.

The suite was very cozy with a spacious living room and dining table.

The bathroom is centralized in the middle of the suite and can be accessed from the living room and from the bedroom. The bathroom has two shower areas separated by another partition and contained a plethora of standard Sheraton toiletries with plenty of towels.

The bedroom had a king sized bed with large spacious closets.

There are two club lounges for Platinum members and one of them is currently being renovated.

The Tower lounge is located on the 18th floor and access is available with a coded key card.

The lounge was simply stunning and it’s arguably one of the best Sheraton lounges in the world. Breakfast was being served and the spread had both hot and cold buffet items.

Having gotten off a long flight the previous day arriving at midnight with no dinner, I was very hungry during breakfast, so I had a little bit of everything.

The breakfast was simply delicious and the service was top notch. Between checking into the room and midnight and checking out right after breakfast, I barely stayed at the hotel for less than 8 hours. I wish my flight would’ve arrived earlier so I could have tried out the evening spread at the Towers Lounge, but I will have to wait until next time. I went back to the room to enjoy stunning views of Tel Aviv.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and service has been top notch. There are plenty of things to do around the hotel such as nightlife, restaurants, and beach access all within walking distance.
