The Sights and Sounds of Masada

After leaving Jerusalem, I drove towards the Dead Sea on Hwy 90 and wanted to squeeze in a quick trip to Masada. Masada is located between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea and is Israel’s top paid tourist attraction. There is free parking available for cars so be sure to ask at the gate and drive up to the hill. The round-trip cable car ride is 70NIS ~ $19USD and you can also buy a one-way cable car ride down if you want to hike up the mountain on the Snake Path (there are no snakes).

After buying the $19 USD round-trip ticket, I headed to the awaiting cable car platform.

I snapped some pictures while the cable-car was in motion and it was totally breathtaking.

Once at the top, you can take it all in with a grand picturesque view of Masada overlooking the Dead Sea.
