The Sights And Sounds of Plaza de Armas in Santiago Chile

The Plaza de Armas is located in the city-center of Santiago Chile. It’s the central meeting-place for locals as it is the city’s main plaza and square. Many people come here to relax as there are numerous bench seats, fountains, and it also is very park-like. There are many tour groups that come here and street vendors around the Plaza de Armas.

Here are some pictures of the park-like Plaza de Armas with fountains and statues:

There was a street vendor selling artwork and another one selling pictures with fake donkeys. A lot of the kids loved the donkeys even if they were not real.

There was a heavy police presence and there were cops on horseback.

The Correo Central (Post office) is located at the Plaza de Armas.

There was a Museum of Natural History which was under construction, but still open to the public.

There was also a Comunidad Edifcio Plaza de Armas which is a City Hall community building.

The most famous building is the Parroquia El Sagrario which is a large cathedral. I went inside and took numerous pictures of the religious figures.
