Points Summary

Bogota Airport LAN VIP Temporal Lounge

When I checked into my flight from BOG-MIA (Bogota to Miami), I was also given a lounge pass to the Temporary LAN Lounge by Gate 29 due to my Executive Platinum status with American Airlines. I heard the LAN Lounge at Bogota Airport was supposed to be open in Spring of 2013, but got pushed back to Fall of 2013. My visit was on August 19, 2013.

With my lounge pass in hand, I followed the signs to the VIP Lounge by gate 29.

The lounge agent took my lounge pass and welcomed me inside.

At first look, it pretty much looked like a cordoned off section inside the airport terminal. It was an open air lounge with almost every seat being taken. It almost felt like a non-lounge because it was so crowded.

There were newspapers available and a small business center with Apple computers.

The food selection was very abysmal. There were no hot selections and many cold cut sandwiches, sushi, cheese, and cookies.

The beverage selection was okay as they did have bottled beer from the Bogota Beer Company and an espresso machine with a large fridge for soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks were also available.

I had a Chapinero Porter beer from the Bogota Beer Company, sushi, and a cheese plate.

The food tasted bland and the lounge was nothing to write home about. I would avoid at all costs if you don’t have access to the nearby Avianca Lounge.
