Aeromexico MEX-LAX 737-700 Business Class

Last year in May, I flew from Mexico City to Los Angeles (MEX-LAX) on Aeromexico. It was probably one of the worst Aeromexico flights that I have ever taken. The meal service was terrible, the cookie was inedible, and the service was non-existent. I was upgraded on this flight due to my Skyteam Elite Plus status with Delta.

I took the metro from the city center to Mexico City airport where I rode the sky train to Aeromexico’s Terminal 2. The gate agent let Premier Clase board first, but the jet bridge was not ready so we all had to wait. The Aeromexico flight attendants behind me also seemed to be slightly annoyed by the delay.

I was offered orange juice as a pre-departure beverage.

After takeoff, I was served champagne with nuts. I still don’t know why I chose champagne since I usually get a coke with lime or a cranberry vodka with lime.

The dinner meal consisted of stuffed cheese ravioli with salad, croissant, and a slice of chocolate cake. The pasta was delicious and so was the chocolate cake.

I was surprised at the dinner service since I took this exact same flight during the same meal times back in May. It’s quite shocking actually but I’m glad the food and service has improved. It was a quick three and a half hour flight to Los Angeles and the flight arrived 20 minutes early.

  1. Hi,

You seem to be the only person offering actual experience with STE+ upgrades on AM. Two questions:

    1) Looks like your experience was that getting on the upgrade list LAX-MEX (US-Mexico) required asking to be added at LAX. Can you confirm? (Did you try any other channels?)

    2) Looks like AM would not upgrade you with STE+ on Lima or Santiago flights? Did you ask at airport (at MEX)?

    Thanks for any reply!
