I called up the American Airlines Executive Platinum line right away to apply two SWU’s (Systemwide Upgrades) and it cleared immediately. I had to obtain a multiple entry Paraguayan Visa for $160 USD from the consulate in Los Angeles. I’m excited to go to Paraguay and explore parts of the unknown and I’m not sure what to expect. I’m spending two nights and three days in Asuncion and can’t wait to share my experiences with you.

  1. Why does anyone do mileage runs anymore? Quicker/easier to spend $250 plus $90 and get 110K AA. Especially when you can do 3 or 4 times in a few months without ever being in a plane. And you can actually get those miles at negative cost if you play that game.

    • @paul I can’t comment for everyone but I actually enjoy visiting the places for cheap, the miles are just a bonus. For others though it is less about miles and more about the status the miles give you.
