The Sights and Sounds of Boulevard Morazan in San Pedro Sula

Boulevard Morazan is an important main street in San Pedro Sula and is perpendicular with Avenida Circunvalacion. Boulevard Morazan is mostly filled with chain restaurants and boutique storefronts. I started walking from south of Avenida Circunvalacion to Boulevard Morazan because I wanted to go to the central part of San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

I swung a right on the Boulevard Morazan roundabout and headed towards Parque Central which is the historic city-center of San Pedro Sula.

There’s just something about American chain restaurants in San Pedro Sula and there are plenty of them such as Chilis, Pizza Hut, and Denny’s.

However, there are also Latin American restaurants such as Los Cebollines Restaurante and Italian such as Pizzeria “Italia”.

Frosty is a cute boutique dessert shop that whips up ice cream cones and paletas (ice cream bar).

Boulevard Morazan is a pretty dead street as far as pedestrian activity goes. I was just about the only one walking during the day time and I don’t blame them since San Pedro Sula is a car culture city.

There are many shuttered businesses such as this movie theater, Cinemas Geminis.

There was also a street vendor selling clothing on the sidewalks of Boulevard Morazan.

There was a football stadium on Boulevard Morazan called Estadio Morazan.

I found a beautiful building covered with art inspired by Romero Britto.

There’s a lot of shopping to be had on Boulevard Morazan, but most of them were closed on Sundays. Most of the shops have armed guards outside to protect the business owner’s assets and provide a sense of security for customers.
