Tomorrow I’m heading to Bogota where I will be spending one night (due to a schedule change) before heading over to my final destination in Barranquilla which is also in Colombia. I booked this trip earlier this year on the American Airlines website for $405.00 which will earn me 8,552 elite qualifying miles at a rate of 4.7 cpm. As an American Airlines Executive Platinum elite member, I used two SystemWide Upgrades and they both cleared immediately into First and Business class.
Introduction to Bogota and Barranquilla
My routing is as follows: LAX-MIA-BOG-BAQ-BOG-MIA-LAX
This isn’t my first time to Colombia as I spent four nights and five days last summer in the beautiful city of Bogota. You can read the full trip report here. Colombia has a special place in my heart and each year, I vow to visit a different city within the country. Barranquilla is a quiet beach town located north of Bogota and I will be flying intra-Colombia on LAN Airlines in the economy class cabin.
I’ll be spending a whole week in Colombia, so follow me on Instagram and Twitter for continuous live-updates of my trip.
