The Sights and Sounds of Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro

Botafogo is a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro that is mostly comprised of middle class residential and office buildings. There aren’t many tourists around this neighborhood, but the location is great since it’s the middle of Centro and Zona Sul (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon).

The best way to reach the Botafogo neighborhood is to take Rio’s subway metro system to the Botafogo station.

Botafogo is a quaint neighborhood with many luxury apartments and high rise residential buildings.

Many cariocas prefer to take a stroll along the many parks in Botafogo during the mornings.

I found that the sidewalks were mostly empty as the majority of the locals prefer to drive.

As with most neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro, there is street art and graffiti.

The main reason I visited the Botafogo neighborhood was to shop at Shopping RioSul (Rio Sul Shopping Center).
