I took a taxi from LIM airport to the Sheraton Lima using a reputable taxi company called Taxi Green. It offers fixed rates from LIM to any hotel and you don’t need to tip the taxi drivers in Lima. In this case, the flat rate was 45 soles ~ $17.18 USD. It was a quick 30 minute ride to Downtown Lima where the Sheraton Lima hotel is located. Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted by the gracious bellman who offered to help me with my bags which I politely declined.

I booked the rate using 1,600 Starpoints and $30 cash (pre-March 2013 devaluations) and the going rate was over $199+taxes which was a great use of Starwood cash and points. As a Platinum member, I was pre-upgraded to a Junior Suite the day before. I chose 500 Starpoints as my Platinum amenity and received two free Pisco Sour drink vouchers to be used at the bar. Lounge access was included for breakfast and evening canapes. I arrived at 1am local time and was exhausted from the long LAX-LIM flight in coach.

The interior of the hotel is set up like an open air atrium with open views of every floor.

I decided to go up to the Junior Suite before having my free Pisco Sour (bar closes at 2am) and I was pleasantly surprised at how big the room was.

There was also a dining table with a welcome fruit amenity and a personalized letter.

The Junior Suite felt like a one-bedroom suite because you can close the door between the living room and the master bedroom.

The Junior Suite boasts one and a half bathrooms. The half bathroom is located next to the entrance of the suite.

The main bathroom attached to the bedroom had an open layout. meaning there were no privacy door.

The jacuzzi tub was the best part about the bathroom in the Junior Suite.

I went downstairs to the lobby bar to have my free Pisco Sour. The bartender also gave us free small bites of spicy ham in an attempt to make us thirsty and order more drinks.

We had an early flight on the same day (arrived at 1am), so I barely slept for half an hour to an hour. We did have breakfast in the lounge located in the Club Floor. The business lounge computers are to the right as you enter the Club Lounge.

The breakfast spread contained many hot items and local PeruvianĀ specialties.

The spread also contained many cold items such as meat and pastries in addition to self serve juice.

I had a small meal for breakfast since I wasn’t that hungry.

The best part about the room was the amazing view of the Palace of Justice and the sweeping views of central Downtown Lima, Peru.

The Starwood Platinum treatment was great and was exemplified by the gracious staff at the Sheraton Lima Hotel and Convention Center. I’ve stayed at this hotel four times now and not once have I been disappointed and it’s in a great location close to all of the Downtown Lima tourist attractions.
